Alliance Dota 2 starts the season strong

Snatches two top spots in two weeks

Two tournaments in two weeks – with top placements in both. Alliance’s Dota 2 team are off to a strong start.

Our new squad has not played together for more than a month, and they’re already showing what they are capable of. Only days after they qualified for the very first major of the season, they attended and became Champions of Dreamleague Season 12 in Rotterdam.

Even if Dreamleague was not part of the Dota Pro Circuit, it was still the first really big tournament after The International in August – therefore, the first big test for the new squad.

Swedes LIMMP and Handsken had played together before, both once under the Alliance banner, but also under another organization. Also, players 33 and Fata was not unknown to each other, since they recently departed Ninjas in Pyjamas together. Together with young, talented Nikobaby the team smashed their way through the tournament and ended in first place – after a heart stopping 0-2 comeback in the finale.

From one tournament and straight to the next for the new Alliance team. This past week they participated in another high-profile competition in ESL One Hamburg, where they ended up in a respectable third place.

With two top three placements in two weeks, the team now aim to take what they’ve learned to their next challenge in the first Dota Pro Circuit tournament of the year: MDL Chengdu Major, starting November 16th.

The road to The International 10 in Stockholm has just begun.
