Gothenburg, Sweden, 2nd July 2025 – Alliance is proud to announce the signing of Alex “poiii” Nyholm Sundgren to our Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) roster, effective immediately. At just 18 years old, poiii is one of the most exciting young prospects in the Swedish CS scene, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him into the Alliance family.
With a clear vision to grow and compete among the elite, Alliance continues to take deliberate steps toward establishing ourselves as a force to be reckoned with in Counter-Strike. Our ambition goes beyond short-term results, we’re building a legacy grounded in development, consistency and competitive excellence. Signing poiii is another big step forward as we continue shaping a roster that can represent Sweden on the international stage and challenge the very best.
“I’m really excited to join Alliance and start playing with the guys” said poiii. “I think they have a good project going and I have no doubt we will deliver some good results in the upcoming months.”
Pontus Bengtsson, Alliance’s General Manager, added: “I think every single team in Sweden has had their eyes on poiii for some time now. We’re honored he chose to join us and we believe he’s the perfect fit for our roster. This will help elevate our level of play to the next tier.”
With the arrival of poiii, Niclas “PlesseN” Plessen will be moved to the bench. PlesseN has been an integral part of Alliance CS2 since the project’s inception nearly two years ago. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks for his dedication, professionalism and all the unforgettable moments he’s helped create.
This move marks a new era for Alliance CS2. The past six months have seen steady progress as we’ve climbed the Valve Regional Standings (VRS), laying the foundation for a strong finish to the year. With poiii now part of our roster, we’re ready to build on that momentum and take the next leap forward.
